Taking Action

”You have the power to take action in your life; it is something that you must do, as opposed to what someone else wants you to do. Taking action – making a decision and acting on it – can be an effective way of getting things done, creating opportunities for yourself and changing the course of your life. Taking proactive steps towards achieving desired outcomes will help you make progress towards reaching set goals and objectives.

For instance, if there’s something in your career or job that isn’t going well or not meeting expectations, taking action is essential for transforming negative energy into positive change. It requires being honest with yourself about where certain areas need improvement so that corrective measures can be implemented swiftly. This may involve speaking up when needed at work or taking classes outside normal working hours, such as professional development courses related directly to one’s current role/position, which would further develop skills relevant for future advancement within the organisation too. Additionally, undertaking additional tasks such as volunteer activities could open doors leading on to new avenues allowing one to explore different possibilities aligned with their strengths and interests while still maintaining full-time employment commitments too – all this through proactively engaging actively via seeking out ways and means, thus creating value along with deepening experience/knowledge gained due solely by own initiative taken (without having been asked)!

Taking action also means confronting fears head-on instead of avoiding them altogether, because fear often hinders people from trying new experiences, ultimately resulting in feelings like regret and disappointment rather than satisfaction and fulfilment experienced by those who choose courage over comfort zones. No matter how uncomfortable situations may appear initially, pushing oneself beyond boundaries set only helps to expand horizons, thus enabling personal growth while affirmatively impacting others around positively too! In other words, ‘staying put’ without responding constructively rather than ‘taking action’ leads, more often than not, to a sense of inertia, eventually spiralling down potentially producing results opposite from expected, henceforth non-desirable ones usually! So why wait? Instead, go ahead and seize opportunities available, especially during uncertain moments like the present day circumstance/reality most are facing across the globe presently – post Covid-19 breakout has become yet another reminder emphasising the importance of adapting quickly when circumstances demand abrupt changes unexpectedly – survival strategies becoming necessary requirements nowadays indeed!

And here comes the relevance part wherein let us consider the example to depict a real-time situation: A few years ago, my friend had applied unsuccessfully multiple times but failed to secure placement in the desired college aiming to pursue higher studies abroad. His country of choice and academic institution were strong, however he lacked the extra-ordinary financial support required to obtain admission. The selection process involved fierce competition globally and was intense – resulting in failure each attempt, disheartening him greatly. It practically seemed a stopping point as despite best efforts, he had completely exhausted resources and no longer able to fund himself to meet expenses like tuition fees or a study visa and associated costs etcetera. But instead of giving up and sitting back, accepting the fate, he decided to approach things differently and decidedly took action to search for alternative methods to raise/find sponsorships, internships, scholarships, grants, bursaries etc. He sourced contacts and references which resulted successfully and managed to secure funding availability which opened the door for his dream come true as he finally secured a place at the coveted university thereafter and graduated cum laude. This played an important hand in his success story. The lesson learnt was simple – sometimes it is hard to figure out a solution ourselves alone, much easier to just ask people around and seek advice – even a small step itself can lead to a big difference in the long run i.e. in a proactive manner he engaged and got the results he wanted and was rewarded with a fulfilling journey – a beautiful tale, acted upon his desire and aim achieved proves the tremendous potential strength lies within a person themselves yet to tap properly and act accordingly in the right direction for definite outcome and goal intended to follow through to the end. It contains the key message that in the quest of success, one must always remain ready, adaptable and flexible with tactics when situation demands, grow, learn, assimilate experience and gain valuable insights along the way – exclusive bonus added perk of the process!!

Ultimately, all motives and initiatives taken are the same thing, and serve the purpose – namely to accomplish purposeful gain with maximum benefits possible for least cost incurred with effort expended in a limited timeframe given. Moreover, applying practical meaning to the phrase “no stone unturned, leave none behind” should involve constantly learning, exploring, growing, stretching and making educated decisions for optimal investment in wise investments promising returns in the later stage for both immediate short term benefit and long term rewards envisaged. Finally, the conclusion to reach is simply saying; “It’s better late than never, so start TODAY and finish TOMORROW!!!””
